The Tomato Beer

It's hard to choose a good day of celebration, a day which has a history, something to celebrate. An example of what a good celebration is, it is the Oktorber Fest, one of my favorite celebrations of the year. This beer fest is celebrated the first saturday after september 15th, it lasts 16 or 18 days. The origin of this festivity is on the celebration of the marriage of the King Ludwig I with Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen on Octorber 12th, 1810. In this royal event, all the citizens of Munich were invited to celebrate this event. It is celebrated on the Theresienwiese fields ("Theresa's Meadow"), named like that in honor of the Crown Princess, and has kept that name ever since. The Oktorber Fest is a Volksfest which means people's festival, this kind of festival has wine or beer everywhere and attractions like games of chance or skill, amusement rides and food and merchandise vendors. But in the Okterber Fest, the beer is the only drink you can have, and this beer is specially selected for this celebration. I like this festival a lot, because I like beer, but specially the real beer, made with love. I have never gone to the real Oktorber Fest in Germany, I only know the Chilean version, but one of my objectives is traveling to Germany and go to this huge festival.

The Tomato Technology

Hello there, and good morning, I was thinking on the old days, and how they lived at
that time, so I thought about the music, the only way that you can hear music at that
time, it was going to a bar, or a concert hall, you can only listen to live music. Since the
creation of the recorders, the music changed a lot, and gradually it got easier to be
listened old and new music. So I realized that one of my favourite piece of technology is
the music’s player, and not only a MP3 players or CD’s players, all kinds of stuff
related to the music, from vinyl’s to online players (like Spotify), but I mostly use my
smartphone to listen to music (so maybe that’s my favourite piece of technology), I got
my first cell phone with music player when I was a child and since then, I have never
left it. Since I got it, I listen to music every day, on the street, on the bus, everywhere I
use it to listen to music. I only put my headphone on, I choose what I want to listen and
I press the play bottom. So I thought that without a music’s player close, my life would
be more boring, I can’t imagine living on the old days without a nice music’s player.

The Tomato Future

When I was a child, I never thought in my future, when an adult asked me, what I wanted be when I grow up, I answered that I will study architecture, but as the time passed by I started to now the world of  computers, I started to like that, so I changed my mind to something related to that. But when I started to play the guitar, I could see that the music world was amazing, so I started to think about studying music, but as the time passed by, I wanted to know all about computers, even in my last year of school, I thought about studying astronomy, but when I saw the the career of sound, I chose inmediately, this career because it has the things I liked, the technology and science, the world of the exact knowledge, and the most important, the music, I can not imagine myself on a square job, doing the same thing over and over again. Until now, my experiencie has been very nice, my partners are great people, and the environment is really good (the good environment compensate the deficit of the faculty).

My future isn't clear, the possibilities with this career are many, but I don't want to choose only one, I want to explore all the things related to this career, from musical production until the physics of the sound.

The Tomato Life

Hello everyone, and welcome to an introduction about myself. My name is Gabriel Cartes, I came from Lampa, but I was born in Santiago and lived all my childhood in Pudahuel. I'm 18 years old and I like music since I was young, but I decided to keep close to this world recently. Also I like technology and science, that's the reason why I decided to study Sound. I studied at the Antilhue Elementary School until the sixth grade. For the seventh grade, I entered to the Liceo Lastarria, in which I ended my obligatory studies. I live in Lampa with my mother since last year, I took a long trip every day to arrive to the Downtown, but Lampa is a very peaceful place, in which you can left behind the annoying city. In my free time I like playing the guitar, maybe take a walk or spented the time on my computer, playing with my friends online.

The Tomato Experience

Good news everyone, and welcome to Tomato Posting, a place where I give a few words to the world. My name is Gabriel Cartes, and I'm studying Ingeniería en Sonido, at University of Chile.
I like a lot English language, most of my favorite music bands are English speakers, also I like the simplicity of the language and the English accent. As I said, the English music has become a part of me, I listen to English music everyday when I take the bus, or in any trip where I'm without company. Also I like the movies soundtrack, music completes a good movie, that's why I like to see lots of movies, specially when they come on their original language, maybe a movie per week. Although it's hard to see movies in Enlish without subtitle, it gives me a lot of problems sometimes, but with a lot of practice, I want to listen to English without problems, listing to music and watching movies.
